K9 - Not sure if it applies in Finland, but defintely worth trying

For my Golf
Took it into the dealers for a coilpack recall - they changed 2, the other 2 were not VAG marked.
They agreed to respray driver's side wing, paint is just starting to lift, no rust bubbles yet, but not the passengers. Wanted 50% contribution. Took them less than an hour to tell me that.

How did you guys get 100% paid under warranty ?

So, I took mine to VW and apparently the previous owner paid out of their own pocket to have the job half done  :fighting:

So now VW obviously won't touch it, whats the best way to go?  Get a new wing and have it sprayed? (if so where from? and any idea on cost of a new wing?) or get my local body shop to try to resurrect my bubble covered wing and repaint?

I took my car to TCW Group Body shop in Milton Keynes. Where they took paint readings and photos. Left it a month no contact, called them up and was told they had no record of my details. Left it a couple of hours then got a call back saying they will repaint the wings and booked it all in etc. Gave me a 14 plate polo as a courtesy car whilst the work was done. Got a call after two weeks to tell me the rust is too bad and they would need to replace the panels.
Was told it would be ready by the end of the week. Wasn't ready by the end of the week as the bodyshop forgot to order the panels so was ready the following week. But in the end after alot of messing around, they replaced both wings free of charge.

Finally got a hold of the paint guy at my local vw dealer and he has said they have that many on the system wanting this done he has been told not to put any through at the moment but had a look at my car and has said both front wings will be replaced, he has taken my details and says I should hear back in a few weeks as soon as he can put it through. If I don't hear anything in a month or 2 I will be going back to make sure there going to do it and not fobbing me off

Anyone dealt with lookers teesside regarding rust issues? My 58 edge Pirelli has slight rust bubbles on the front wings.

I took mine into vw Leicester yesterday to get start the claim and they put it through on the system. Just got to wait for a call now.

They said they will replace the panels. I did start a thread a few weeks back because they told me they wouldn't blend the paint in to the doors. So I raised this question again and they said because it's down under warranty they will only spray the panels with the closest colour to the red my car already is however they don't touch the doors to blend it all together so
I'm worried now that the new panel is going to stand out really bad!

I collected our car earlier this week after having 2 new wings fitted, And after looking closely all round the car I can see there is a small scab appearing on the lower edge of the drivers door and a few very very small blisters appearing on the rear 1/4 (3DR)
Phoned up local VW reapir centre and its going back in tomorrow to be checked.
Anyone had any success with 100% contribution on anything apart from front wings?
After all there terms and conditions dont state anything in regards to contribution!

Yep, I got 100% on repairing rust under the boot handle. Took some persuasion though!

At first they offered 50% off the repairs as a "goodwill gesture". I then sent an email to the MD of VW expressing my disappointment at this. Just explained that I had always looked after my car well and there was literally no way that I could have stopped this rust from forming and shouldn't be penalized for something I couldn't have avoided. VW UK then got in touch with me and said that as I had a VW service history they felt it was "the right thing to do" to cover all the costs. Job done  :happy2:

Good result. My car hasn't been back to the main dealers for the last 3 years ..... I'll still try though.

WELL.... How about this for an update!
After Volkswagon UK customer services telling me to book the car in to have the door and rear quarter inspected for warranty.
We turn up at the local approved repair centre and out comes an arrogant chap to inspect, same arrogant chap who inspected it for the wings only this time as he's walking away after the inspection an by this time I'm in the car driving off leaving my misses to get in her car behind me, he comes up with the following statement "f*cking cheek coming here wanting petty corrosion repaired I may aswell spray the whole f*cking car!!"
Yes tho were his exact words!!
Upon hearing this my wife questioned him and he repeatedly told her to f*ck off!!!
And that he's not repairing the car and his report will be it's wear and tear!
This has now been reported to volkswagonUK and they will now be back in touch next week!
Mike Holiday of Blade accident repair centre at Westgate Gloucester, Shame on you!!!
