Front wing rust warranty success!!

Hi Kieran, just out of interest where was the rust on your sills?

Cars booked I for the 20/3/15 vw paying 100% for everything both wings and sills which I'm happy about plus a free courtesy car :)
Cars estimated to be in for one week just hope they do a good job and the cars in safe hands anyone on here ever used VW LOOKERS BLACKBURN??

Ive only been offered 50% on the sills, rang vw customer services and still had no joy.
Even with the contribution the quoted me £300 popped into a body shop for a quote and was told £250, madness.

the sills is a dodgy area. i got 75% contribution. and still cost me £275.

just get it done and don't look back

Well bad news VW didn't do my sills so I kicked off and in the end I have ended up paying £180 for both sills to be repaired and painted annoyed that I was lied to by the manager but at least it's getting done now it's cheaper because they had paint left over from the wings!

just seen this thread AFTER ive scratched off rust and applied kurust and touch up paint to my wings.

I imagine any claim I put in will be rejected now right?

Excellent news. Where was the rust?

At the same time as being pleased for you, it sickens my happiness that VW aren't consistent with all cases! My dealer said rear arches aren't covered, and apparently VW are only paying 50% now. I'm still waiting for the dealer to hear back though.

Just behind the 2 front arches, wasn't anything major but chanced my arm & went prepared. Which dealer did you go to? I went with Agnews on Boucher, Ian Magowan is their warranty guy. He wasn't overly helpful at first but I produced the tech bulletin & passed him this thread on my phone.

I thought Ian was a bit off when I brought the TT in previously so I went to Philips. VW will be getting a strongly worded email if my claim comes back and try only offer 50%.
