Also has anyone had a repai to a sill paid for 100% recently? My dealer phoned yesterday to say the front arch will be covered in full, but only 50% of the sill.

I want to contact VW with regards to why the rear arches are no longer covered, and would mention the other 50% of the sill too.

I've been offered 50% on my drivers rear arch.

I only got 100% on wings. Only 50% on sills and tailgate

Why not? The perforation warranty is 12 years.

These repairs aren't done under warranty anyway as the perforation has to be from the inside out to qualify. They call it a 'goodwill gesture'.

I had a quick google earlier and it appears to have changed a couple of times since. I tried Paul Willis as that appears to the the most recent, but the email bounced back.

Previously I've had front wings done FOC and sills at 50%,

It has put me off buying a Mk6 or Mk7 if cars as new as the Mk5 as having such widespread issues with corrosion

Thanks, I think I'm being fobbed off then, he tried saying the issue on tailgate was a stone chip when the paint is sound as far as I can see (it's some bubbling beneath the paint apx 5mm) I'll get a decent photo today.

The rear wing one side has 5mm bubbling near arch and rear qtr's both sides there is slight corrosion starting in the upper half of door shuts

My 50% for tailgate is £191

My 50% is around £294 if they can repair the tailgate. If it's a new one its £543.

Can I ask the issues you guys have with your tailgates? Is it around the common area around VW Badge or elsewhere?

Mine is a 5mm bubble of corrosion starting below badges on right hand side...
