Proposed wheel upgrade
« on: June 07, 2012, 12:25:08 am »
I've decided to upgrade my wheels to something lighter and 18" diameter.
My shortlist is:

Neuspeed RSe12
Team Dynamics 1.2
Oz Ultraleggera
Speedline 2120 Turini

In silver or gunmetal.

I will combine the above with Bilstein B12 Sportline kit.

Does anybody have any thoughts?? Thanks in advance.

Neuspeed RSe12
Seem to be a nice wheel, not seen about as much as your other choices.
Colour would be depending on colour of the car.

I'm sure other folk will be along to help you decide...
If it's not broke, Mod it.....

Silver is the way !

I think the Neuspeed's are very nice but have you seen the quality of them up close?

The reason I ask is that I bought some VMR 710s from the EAS in America. They looked stunning but the paint finish was not that good so I then had to pay extra to have them powder coated locally.

The end result was amazing but compared to buying a set of OZ wheels the total cost including import tax, shipping and repainting was way higher.

heart says Oz Ultraleggera

but head says Team Dynamics! TDs are best value for money and only slightly heavier then the above and miles lighter then Monzas!

I really like the RSe07. They take VW centre caps too.

I know lots of guys plump for the TDs but they really don't do it for me.

Enkei RC T4

Raderworks LW-10

OZ Alleggerita

Enkei RP F1

TR Motorsport - US firm do some V light stuff

TSW Nurburgring

These are all under 20lbs a wheel (i would say that is light) Tyres average 26lbs a corner - if you can find ones that can get you down to 40/41/42 (wheel  and tyre) per corner then you are doing very well.

Like those Neuspeeds..

That said as I have some anthracite grey Turinis sat collecting dust I really must get round to fitting them.., so I'll second Nick (Keano).

^^^^^ WHAT HE SAYS, 100% agree  :happy2:

Sticky tyres wont give you much change from £800 - £1000 if you go in that direction.

Why leightweight wheels, is your car on a diet or just for handling or apearence? Have you got a BBK, if so you may need to check clearence. Pretty sure Oz and TD's are fine.

I've got ultraleggeras and TD 1.2s (although the 1.2s are white , spare set for track stuff)

couple a pics
legge's

1.2s

also had 1.2s on my old VX220T

the finish on my legge's are superb, the 1.2s are pretty good although can look a little plain, which I'm not too fussed about, more about the weight

For handling.

I think I'll go for a set of 'lesser seen' wheels if possible. However I love Pescaras so much I'd run with them even though they're no lighter than Monzas.

Nice dilemma I have here!
