Bloody new laptop
« on: June 09, 2012, 09:17:46 pm »
Bought  a new laptop today and set everything up.

BUT the bloody wireless will no connect over 72mps

The thing is supposed to be Wireless N though no matter what i do it sticks on 72mps.

Macbook had no issues at all though flaming Intel Centrino Wireless N 100 is a joke..

Think I may be returning this unless I can sort it out.......any ideas?

Is your Ad hoc QoS mode under your wireless properties set to WMM enabled?
Without traction power is nothing!

I was curious as I have the Centrino N wireless and looked at mine.

The Adhoc QOS mode you refer to is disabled on mine and I can see 144mbps.

Tried both and each time goes to 72mps

Connection type is G though N enabled and router setup for N......

Sorted it now....thank god.

Upgraded to the new windows 8 preview, chnaged the adaptor settings to what i had before and now connected at 150mps, downloading from newgroups at 8.7mps.

Must have been stuck in the OS, reinstalling windows 7 may have fixed it, if not was going to replace the wireless card for a 300mps one.
