seat removal/batt disconnect...any precautions?

My mate has the old airbag light/seat wiring issue so going to do it for him this weekend. Have read about disconnecting the batt as usual, but re connecting it with the key already at the on position....something to do with the throttle adaptation?

Any input on battery disconnection please.!
