Sill rust Technical Bulletin

Hi all, does anyone have a copy or have access to the VW technical bulletins?? I'm after the copy for the one regarding rust on the front of the sill where the wing bolts to the sill. Apparently its to do with a manufacturing fault - something to do with when the car is travelling along the production line the machine that holds the sills as everything is bolted on sometimes grips the sill too tightly and cracks the paint. Eventually water, etc. gets in and it starts to rust.

Its the same as jbc's issue here

I'm only after a copy so I have some ammunition if the dealer doesn't play ball when I go see them as I've got to get my wings done as well. If someone has got access and would rather PM/email the link or a copy than post here that's fine.

I can't help with the bulletin mate, but I had this issue on my 07 gti and it was fixed under warranty
They just checked the wings for depth and confirmed it hadn't been sprayed before, then sent off the claim. A few days later it got approved

Is that the one for the wings?? if so I've got that one, apparently there is/maybe a technical bulletin for the sills as well hiding somewhere

I hadn't seen the bulletin about the wings when I went to the dealer but I bluffed and said I had read it.

Their attitude changed straight away after I mentioned the bulliten.

If you normally use one main dealer and they refuse to look at it or submit a claim to vw then I would find another dealer.

lol, no worries. I've been googling and can't seem to find anything. I will probably try and bluff it tbh but if I can get hold of a copy it will help

I have just had my 06 done under warranty, No bullitin sorry, but they accepted the claim without argueing.

Hi guys! I've been doing some searching relating to corrosion of the front wings and sills and i am struggling to find copies of the tech bulletins that are floating around somewhere. I plan on storming my local dealer next week to have a moan about it, and guess ill need a bit of ammo for the visit!

Any help pointing me in the right direction of these documents would be greatly appreciated.

On a sidenote to this: I have just had my claim for rust in the bootlid accepted, and monday my car is getting it replaced
