Needing a rough idea of value on GTi?!
« on: June 13, 2012, 04:12:58 pm »
Hi everyone,

Just put my Audi up on Autotrader today and had a couple of people interested in it. One guy wants to know if I'd be interested either his or his wife's car as part ex. He has a 56 Jag X Type 2.5 AWD auto. His wifes is what I'd be more interested in but hope someone on here could give me a realistic but rough idea of value and how difficult it would be to sell. I know it's going to be peoples own personal opinion but it still gives me some sort of idea.

Only details I've been given are it's a 57 Golf GTi, 3dr, silver, FSH and it's done 120k!

I know the mileage is massively high, double the average mileage in fact!

What can of amount do you think would be a reasonable amount to offer them as part ex which will allow me to sell it on quickly and easily enough. I'm not after making money out of it, just don't want to be stuck with another car when I'm trying to make room for a new toy haha

Cheers,
Karl

Looked on Auto Trader and found the actual car for sale at £6,500 but it's from a Trader is says so will be different price to what I'd sell it at :( Will try PH later on when I get back on my laptop and see what it comes up with

I wouldn't take any more than £4k on trade in.

Yeah that's what I was thinking but he has it up for £6,500 so didn't want to insult him by saying an unrealistic offer or even worse pay over the odds

He's obviously unable to sell it for some reason. Could be a lemon.
