I got the link direct from the EVO mag, so it must be them
170mph seems a little ambitious.
I have the Performance car magazine and they are comparing the Focus RS, Revo's Cupra, The Scooby STi and the Renaultsport Megane R26.R
Renault = 60mph in 5.8sec, 100mph in 14.9sec, 140mph in hahahahaaaaa didn't make it
Focus = 60mph in 6 sec, 100mph in 14.2sec, 140mph in 36.1sec, top speed 146.3 mph
Scooby = 60mph in 5.3 sec, 100mph in 13.1sec, 140mph in 36.1 sec, top speed 145.3 mph
Cupra = 60mph in 5.7 sec, 100mph in 12.5sec, 140mph in
26.9 sec , top speed 158.4 mph
Top speed done in 2 mile run.
Quote from magazine
"When it comes to in-gear muscle we find ourselves once again in Revo's realm. Put simply (with the exception of 20-40mph in fifth where the lowdown grunt and gearing of the Focus nosed ahead) the Leaon was the quickest over every speed increment and in every gear, more often than not by a significant margin. Even saying that doesn't do justice to the way in which this car accellerates though. Never mind what gears you're in or what revs you're holding, because it won't matter. From 1500rpm there's decent shove. At 2500rpm this turns to enough urge to push you into the seat back. Then, when the needle touches 3000rpm the real show begins, the Leon switching into a whole new realm of accelleration that doesn't even think about dropping off until 6500rpm. I can't think of many other cars that would make for better overtaking machines"
My point....even a 360bhp Revo car cannot get to 170mph in 2 miles, so the Autograph claim is a little "overambitious"
