Yeah, they are damned expensive. We've been holding off buying a few MacBook Pros so no doubt we'll be ordering a couple.

Such amazing product design

My 2010 MBP is doing me fine, when I use it! Most of the time I'm just on my iPad! Lol.
I was after an updated Mac Mini, which I want to use as a server and HTPC. Looks like I need to wait a little longer for the updates to the Mini's.....

Disappointing that you can't up spec the SSD on the lower processor though.

Yeah, i was disappointed with that. I wanted the base spec with 512gb. Im wondering if it would be possible to buy the memory aftermarket at a much cheaper price and swap it out. Remember, its not an SSD, its actually 2 sticks of flash memory.

I ordered mine this morning. Was 4-5 days delivery last night and now 2-3 weeks. They must have sold a fair few.

I've mulled it over and can get the 2.6GHz model with 16Gb RAM for just over £1800, but I'm just not sure I need such a powerful machine for home use. Like Ifti nearly all my home browsing and email is done on an iPad...

Exactly why I'm not going to bother. My current system is more then what I need and I can't justify spending that much for something I don't really need.
I bet a lot of people will buy the system because it the 'latest and greatest' but won't use anywhere near its power - most probably just want the display!

Im going to keep waiting for an updated mac mini instead and put some cash into that, as I want to use that as a full on server that I can access remotely, as well as use it for Plex etc.

It looks like the 13 doesn't have retina display....I may have upgraded if it did.  As it stands I won't be changing.  Impressive machine though.

Want to see one in the flesh though.  Can't wait.

The 13" will get the Retina display eventually.
