Ed30 - couple of things!

I notice there's a thread on here about the Ed30 and want to know if my car (new to me!) is already on the Ed 30 register, if in fact there is one?

And can I obtain a number / model plaque from VW even though i am not the original owner?

Ring up VW uk and say your after the ED30 model number (Plaque). They will update the system to your name if its not been done, you will then be asked to goto your local VW with your V5 form to show proof you own the car (again if its not  been updated). Then once they update the system/confirm , you ring back up VW to say you done it so which then a lady called Jenny will call you back to say they got you a plaque/number and will be on your way :)

If you know your number, can't you just have a plate made up?
