That's absolutely horrendous, I assume it was parked on the road???  :scared:

Could it have been a push bike at high speed, or a motorbike?

Yes unfortunately it is on-road parking - what i would give for a house with a drive way or a garage  no such luck though...

I think i must be getting old, as i say i live in London and there isn't a day that goes by when i don't find myself shaking my head at someone acting with blatant disregard and complete lack of respect for other people's property  :fighting:

yes i was just thinking that at the moment all i've seen and considered is cosmetic, if someone has knocked it with enough force there could be suspension damage  :sad1: fingers crossed it's just cosmetic  :scared:

I've taken another look at it this morning with the benefit of not having the shock and disbelief of it all clouding my assessment of the visible damage.

Turns out on closer inspection that they have put a split in the side wall where the R of ULTRAC is so that's too compromised to be used which means i'll need to give her two new boots for the rear - about £240 inc. fitting give or take a tenner

As the alloy is absolutely  there's no way i'm driving around with it like that for long and i may as well get the front passenger alloy done at the same time as that has been kerbed by me and the wife, so a couple of wheels at Lepsons and the car park cost, looking at £170 approx

Finally the bodywork which i'll do last of all. I've got a couple of other nasties to be sorted so that will probably cost me somewhere in the region of £150 maybe more i don't really know the rates for bodywork i'll need to look into it before i get it done.

So the moronic cnut has cost me north of half a grand. I was gonna buy about £100 of cleaning stuff for the car but i'll now be saving that towards installing my CCTV and snipers nest for the next gimp that comes along  :fighting: :fighting: :fighting: :fighting:

Similar thing happened to me, some bellend scraped my front bumper. To say i was pissed was an understatement.
As yours goes, it looks like it could have been a transit or something like that as the
front wheel nuts really protrude on those suckers. I know its no consolation but it could have been worse as the could have swiped the whole side of the car. Hope you get it sorted pal.  :happy2:

cheers Gaz and yeah that's a fair point, looking at it with less rage it could well have been a lot worse. Wheel nut on a tranny is possible or the back bar bit on a transit/luton van - there's no paint transfer but there is rust transfer

I feel for you bud...  unbelievable...  people just don't give a monkeys about other peoples property these days.

We had a similar thing happen to my wives car in a B+Q car park we were in the shop no more than 10 mins only to come out to a massive dent just in front of the rear wheel... complete with whit scuff marks !!! I was dam angry and it was probably a good job they had F#####d off !!! Turns out a fella had seen some old biddy in a bag of sh*te disco try to park next to it and as she swung in clobbered the side in and dully drove out the other side and buggered off... cops were informed and we got it sorted, but we were lucky some kind person stumped up to be a witness... anyway enough of my rant I hope you get it all sorted bud. chin up.. new tyre and a wheel refurb job done.

Absolutely terrible to hear!! Like everyone else has said, some people just don't give a damn.

Have you thought of just getting a new set of alloys? There are a few good sets on here for sale, including tyres, or en eBay. If it is going to cost you 240 for tyres and 170 for refurb you might as well spend £500 on the nice monza IIs in the for sale section then sell on your other 3 wheels and tyres - always someone looking for 1 or 2 as replacements  :happy2:

You may even get a good amount back to pay for the paintwork - little consolation I know
VCDS cable HEX-USB+CAN. New but can do the basics including coding

If you do decide to go down the set of wheels route I will be ordering a set of CH for mine and will have a mint set of monza's with pilot sports on with 5mm on them... 17" though... cant see if yours are 17 or 18.   :happy2:

It did run through my mind but i need the tyre sorting ASAP as any compromise to the side wall is serious. As tempting as it might be to consider it only a small split barely visible to the naked eye and therefore ignore it, i'd feel a lot differently about it if i had a blow-out on the motorway. If i was unlucky i may not even have the chance to feel differently about it... I have a family so i have to be sensible and responsible so the 2 tyres are ordered from Camskill, should be here tomorrow with any luck and on the beast by early next week latest. That'll be one job down 2 to go...

Thanks for the well wishes all  :drinking:

No problem bud... You are doing the right thing by getting new tyres don't think I would risk that on the motorway with the kids in !!!  look like the side wall is damaged a fair bit.
