From Vw last time I checked around 1200 quid. Normal garage with oem parts still best part of a grand.

If you know someone who can do the job for you and source the parts yourselves it'll save you a lot. It's the labour that kills with this as its gearbox out jobbie

When mine went on my focus diesel I bought a single mass flywheel kit from eBay for £200

And put an ad on gumtree asking if anyone could  fit it for me
Got a few replies but 1 guy offerd to do it for £100

Luckily he done it within a day and done a good job of it
all in £300

I was getting quotes and all were over £1000

parts with a trade discount from eurocarparts £280 for clutch/flywheel kit - LUK kit
labour was £150

the labour cost of around £150 for a DMF/clutch job on a tdi is about usual for the garages around inner-city birmingham if you know where to look for the decent garages including the VAG specialists, i took it to a cousin/family friends who's a bosch authorised garage and been in the trade for the last 25 years, took them about 5/6 hours to do it all in although they did take their time! that included a wait for the slave cylinder from TPS which was £55 all in

shop around... i know that vw TPS had offers on original DMF's about a week ago for the 1.9 and 2.0tdi's for 288, clutch kit would be another 150 on top of this i would've thought...

I recently had both mine done on my 2005 GT TDi and I think it was roughly £450 for a LUK clutch and flywheel and about £200 for the labour. Flywheel going seems to be a common problem on these models. Mine is on 95K and I had no idea when clutch was done last so it made sense to do that at the same time.
