What's it like down there now?

It's wet up here  :sad1:

Forecast totally changed now - heavy rain this afternoon it seems. Another event wash out.

Top decision to tun up just for the afternoon as track dried out after morning drenching.

KPM there supporting Milltek Golf R, Steve's GTI, Neil's ED30 and Shaun's Roc R which I'm sure he's enjoying very much now (lapped everyone in one session)

APR also there with their Golf R and Rocco, as were JKM with their Octy and Kate's wee mk3 16v. Oh Revo were also there with their van and the S4/S5 demo cars.

Also saw Hedge/Top Cat/Greeners and Markymaks mate with the Candy R  :happy2:

I had a blast in my Roc R - could really do with some sticky rubber now. Bit worried about oil temp getting close to 120 degrees but talking to Neil soon put my mind at rest (VW cup cars don't run uprated oil coolers)

Think a lot of people stayed at home though due to the morning weather

Id imagine the VWCup cars change oil alot more frequently than you do though.  Ive had my oil temps over 130degrees in mine.

Im getting an oil cooler fitted to mine for peice of mind, lus i dont like to come into the pits until it drops below 100degrees which normally takes about 3 cool down laps at least  :fighting:

That is a good point as its in for oil change and service next week!

It dropped back to the 90's quite fast after finishing the session but today was the highest I've seen to date whilst out on track.

Maybe I shud start putting in 6 month oil changes  :happy2:

My oils done every 5k on the road and now after every track day.  3 laps to cool the oil was at Mallory Sy, was quite short.  Took a while to cool at idle though too eh.

Sounds like a great day!

But mallory was cold and wet.  Rockingham ttok over 3 because it was red hot both times, dry and alot longer than mallory!!!  Never got over 125 at Mallory anyway

Im not changing every trackday, thats OTT i think.  An oil cooler to keep temps around 90-100degrees then only 1 lap for a cool down.  Much better, and no need rto change the oil because its not got to hot.
