Which stereo to use that won't cause issues?
« on: June 18, 2012, 03:16:37 pm »
Hi folks,

Wonder if anyone can help me. I have the standard 300 unit in my 05 Gti. I would love to upgrade it to a Sat Nav/DVD unit with around a 7" screen.

Is there any unit that will fit in my car and not cause any issues with battery drain etc? Other than the VW units like the 510 will a similar Kenwood, Pioneer unit simply fit in and work with problems etc and the need for a Canbus upgrade? If so can you advise which ones?

Thank you

There's a few but most aftermarket ones then require CAN BUS boxes to shut down power, integrate with steering wheel buttons etc.

I have a Zenec NC2010 which is an all in one solution designed for the mk5 platform.
I believe there is an NC2011 version out now but won't be cheap.
Used to have Edition 30 - number 009 and a GT TDI 140.
Now have an S4 B8 Avant (stage 2)
