A few pics of my Grey 5 Door ED30 DSG......
« on: May 24, 2009, 12:13:13 pm »
Just been out giving her a good old wash.

Washed using 2 bucket method with Autowash, and wash mit - seperate wash mit for the lower part of car and wheels, sheeps wool wash mit for main body of car.

AutoGlym fast Glass on Windows.

Optimum Car Wax (spary) on body after wash and dried.

Autosol with 00 wire wool on exhaust (although I still cant get it as shiny as I would like!)

Megs High Endurance Tyre shine.

Dyson hoover for the inside, with some Dash wet wipes.

Still need to get some leather conditioner so havent done that yet.

Im not really much of a detailer, and it takes me a good 3 hours to get all the above done!
Does the car look as shiney as it should, or am I missing something??
Your comments are welcome

I forgot to mention - I do have some Poorboys wheel sealer, and plan to take the wheels off at some point when I next get time to give them a proper clean and seal, while applying some Hammerite to thehubs to get rid of the rust!

Looks great. IMO the exhaust looks fine as it is but if you want to get some further shine on it apply some autoglym nxt metal polish or some autosol alloy cleaner that shold do the trick :happy2:

I used Autosol with some 00 grade wire wool on the exhaust.
Just takes a LOT of elbow grease.

looks good mate, I find the steel grey really hard to get a good shine out of it compared to the likes of red and black.

Really?  I've found it pretty good at coming up better than new, not to be a smart arse but I've been impressed with how effective a good polish and wax sesh can be on the Steel Grey colour!...  :happy2:

Looking great Ifti & a great colour to clean & keep clean :happy2:

I can rattle the wife's motor out in a tad over an hour, with wash, speed detailer dry, door shuts, glass & wheels done propper. But that is working up a sweat.....

You don't look like you have discovered ClayBar yet.........I think you are well on the slippery slope to detailing hell

But we love it........

No Ed30 badge on the front grill yet.....is it something you are going to consider? It really does set the front off.

Nice work again mate :happy2:
