R32 DSG, 2.0tfsi engine conversion

Apologies for the multiple threads, just a quick question, will the 2.0tfsi engine link up to the r32 dsg gearbox ok?

S3 running gear is probably an r32 4wd system isn't it? That uses the TFSi engine.

Not without a change of bellhousing, as the R32 engine is canted forward.

The picture below shows a Mk5 r32 engine fitted in a Mk4 (friend's car). Note the space between bulkhead and engine due to the canting of the engine, by comparison the tfsi leans rearwards, and the bellhousing shape and bolt holes locations are accordingly different.

Golf R with 2.5TFSI conversion pushing close to 450bhp, that would be something else and I doubt there would be much on the road to live with it  :happy2:

And to answer your question Pov, The TFSI will not fit the R32 gearbox.

That should fit to any TFSI yes.
