i've got the fiscon Basic bluetooth kit - love it!

cheaper than the OEM kit, easier to install than the OEM kit - just a box, the loom that goes between the factory plug and the radio and the mic and thats it!

integrates with the RED MFD, also gives you the added bonus of the E-MFA, so you get number of litres left, boost, oil temp, speed and a few other bits and pieces assuming its supported by your engine. sound quality is superb, also supported A2DP with my old blackberry Bold 9780 without a single issue whatsoever, just pressed play on that and it came through in the car, now also supports it on my galaxy nexus!

i believe the difference between the basic and the basic plus kit is the basic plus allows you to see the address book on the RNS510 - i didnt require this function and i got the 'Basic' version kit very cheap off ebay.de so opted for that!

good luck!

EDD666999 - I apologise for the capitals was on my iPad in bed n it was late, sorry mate.

APPLES12 - Cheers for the info mate, Sounds like I've made the right choice! I've got the basic plus one (not that it make much difference) whats the sound quality like? and where have you mounted your mic?

retrofit hard to do? thinking about doing it once i get some xenons

Hi,

the retrofit is really really easy...

all you've got to do is take out your radio/RNS

unplug the quadlock going into the back of that, secure the fiscon box round the bottom somewhere, i dropped mine behind the air conditioning controls, then later moved it to behind the gearstick when i had the entire centre console out (this is a bit 'overkill...behind the AC controls is sufficient)

then you've just got to feed the microfone wire down the A-pillar, behind the fuse box, behind the steering column and it comes out behind the stereo, its self explanatory when your in the car, i've got mine mounted just by where the little 'airbag' label/badge is on the A pillar

make sure you leave the microfone up there and feed the plug through! it'll be easier than trying to feed the microphone through all the wiggly bits!

then plug it in and thats all you've got to do!

have you got an RNS510? how much did the fiscon set you back?
