1/4 Sprint Tricks, tips and advice MANUAL
« on: June 22, 2012, 08:58:59 pm »
What are the do's and dont's for sprinting a Stage 1 Edition 30? Launch revs, launch style (dump the clutch or feed the power in), short shift in the lower gears, how to combat wheelspin / wheelhop with standard mounts?

Thanks  :happy2:

Traction control off. Set off with about 2.5k rpm on the revs and dump the clutch whilst putting the foot halfway down on the throttle. If you get too much wheelspin swap to 2nd and away you go!
Golf R gone.

So if wheelspinning/hopping it's better to short shift to 2nd rather than let off?

Are you stripping your car Jack? I considered rear seats, spare wheel and toolkit as it's around 70kg but then decided I want to see what the car can do in it's "everyday form"
