Rns 510 fan
« on: June 24, 2012, 07:43:19 pm »
Hi all
Just brought a rns510 satnav version b with fermware 1100 I think. but when I fitted it the cooling fan in the back of the headunit runs when the radio is off and the keys are out  of the car it goes off after about 3-4 mins but then comes back on and goes off again. Is this a case of the headunit needing to be coded ?

i think thats perfectly normal...its quite a complicated/advanced bit of kit running in quite an enclosed space - dont worry about it!

Mine sometimes stays on for 10-15 mins to cool down, especially if it's been on for some time!

It is usual operation for the RNS - nothing to worry about at all.

I don't have the scanner/software to do that it's some thing I may look into but I'm a mac user so I'll need to find out about that to
