« on: June 24, 2012, 09:51:03 pm »
Hi,

Are the standard plugs still up to the job when your into stage 2 territory? Im havin no problems with mine(touch wood) but yano how it is. Not happy unless im fiddling.

And if not are there any that anyone can recommend?

Thanks

vRSAlex mentioned to me that Nick at R-Tech favours Nology, so that's another brand to look into  :happy2:

Just be aware that the Nology plugs are not cheap vs the ngk ones...

Well I know I havent had my plugs changed for at least 18 mths now, bit before I got a Bluefin Stage 1, and now that I have a custom Stage 2 remap, yes, it does judder now more than it did, so maybe worth changing them, and cheaper than oem, lol!?

Just be aware that the Nology plugs are not cheap vs the ngk ones...

a bit less than double the price, but still cheaper than OEM.

i've got a contact who i'm working with. I might see if i can get a GB going for the Nology ones

NGK-BKR7EIX i belive are the ones required...

If you enter these on the NGK partfinder it shows suitability for the Mk2 Golf...!

Correct plug is the NGK PFR7S8EG according to their website. AFAIK these are the exact VW OEM plug, which have part number 06H 905 601 A.

However apparently the original factory fitments were Bosch!?!?!?

Confused yet?? I know I am!

iirc the Bosch is platinum and the NGK iridium, so no...
