How to remove boot carpet/Access rear power supply?

I'm trying to access the power cable to my rear power outlet but can't for the life of me work out how to access it.

Can anyone help?

Do I need to remove the boot carpet or can I just remove the plastic.

Its a 5 Door MK5 Golf GT TDi.
