Bolt RCD310 instead of RNS510

Probably a stupid question
Can I bolt this in
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-GOLF-ETC-RCD-310-RADIO-CD-MP3-PLAYER-WITH-WARRANTY-1K0-035-186AA-/110902782784?pt=UK_In_Car_Technology&hash=item19d2522b40
to where a RNS510 currently is in my 08 GTI ? The RNS510 was factory fit.
I'm a little short on time for the change so just making sure there are no drain issues or gotchas

This will fit in yours but why do you want to change RNS510 for the lower version?

It went straight in. I think it came out of a mk6 as the plastic is slightly darker. But works fine. Buttons all work and everything :-) Thanks
