Well Bit of an update with a few new bits added!
I got a VCDS Lead just to have a play with and help others out:
I added the Auto-door lock feature when driving off @ 15mph or 15km/h which ever one is correct. I tried to add the fog lights to activate when cornering but it wouldn't allow me i needed a different module at a cost of approx 200 quids , save that for another day...
I was able to activate my friends, which is a 2008 ed30 & it works great.
I haven't had a chance to run logs but i will soon!
Silver ashtray lid stuck on, just to see if i liked it, it adds abit of something different to that area, it was only the sticky type one but i have a different idea already to put in its place
Added in the OSIR suede gear stick gator, that wasn't to easy, i had taken it apart & wish i didn't start it so late in the evening,
, but i accomplished it OK... I was very careful as i didnt want to be left using the bare gear stick.
I put the gear stick up in to 3rd gear & levered the bottom part out, then the clips that held it in place came undone,
I give the gear stick a bit of a pull & off it came...
Now to take it apart, i removed the ring piece that held the gear knob on, Un-clipped the clips that held the bottom part of the gator to the plastic surround. Now in pieces ..I had to rebuild it with the new gator, a bit of cutting was needed put it together. A few Staples where added in the same place as the original one, i had popped it together and added a bit of sticky tape over the clips just in-case as it was a tight fit ( we all like to hear that ) and put the sliver surround back on & re-fitted back in the car...
The hand brake cover is from an ed30 quite easy to take off & put back on. Nice touch with the red stitching...
Next up was the chrome headlight switch, push, turn, out it came & disconnected the wire, re-connected the new one & pushed it back in easy as!
Drivers door interior handle changed with the chrome window & mirror adjuster switches no need for the door card to be removed for this side...
As for the passenger side door, it needed the door card removed 4 screws 3 along the bottom 1 up the side & 2 bolts in behind the door handle with the trim removal tools pop, pop, pop around where you see the plastic type screws then of with the door-card, disconnected the electrics to the window switch to give a bit more room. Then another 2 screws holding the door handle screwed on the back or was it 3. Old one off, new one on, with the chrome switch.
Put back together in reverse order!
The old handles were looking abit worn and marked I have to say it freshened up nicely
