Hooked up with a fellow MK56 friend

A few engine mod shots:

Another night out with a mixture of cars:

I had found a boost leak, so called in to my tuners Auto-tune, fixed boost leak, it was coming from the pipe attached to the discharge pipe to the oem intercooler...
Got my boost back again:

Upgraded to these : DaveB's Vagbremtechnic AP Racing 2 piece disc set-up..

Spent a few days bedding them in, then when for a nice drive to test them out  :jumping: Pulled over for a few photos

Could not ask for anything else, pedal fell is great, stopping power is awesome, absolutely no fade, fitted with DS2500 pads, got a great deal more confidence with these puppies!

Had Give the discs a painting to try and prevent any rust is the future, some hammerite paint as a type of undercoat, then some VHT high heat paint, I will see how long it lasts..

Got a new car for my Birthday, it's very Tasti

This is a before picture:

After:

A nicer finish ! I think...  :innocent:

I would also like to change the bush at the bottom of the gear stick lever, as I am lead to believe, if you have any side to side slack, this can be the problem, I can only hope it will bring it back the that new car feeling again, anyone tried to do this???

I like things tight  :signLOL: I will upload the part number...

Give the car an Oil change, used Shell Helix ultra extra this time, as I have always used Castrol edge professional fst... I believe it has the car running better, smoother, smooth idle... Used the ECS magnetic sum-plug I had lying around for awhile now, will see on the next oil change if he has collected anything.

Changed the spark plugs

and pollen filter... All nice and fresh now... I believe Terraclean have a new machine for TFSI engines now, was going to give that a go, but would really like a before and after run on the dyno, with a scope stuck through for a before and after shot...
Is there anything else, I could use as a test, apart from taking the head of before and again after to see how effective it would be.

Would there be any logs to run for testing?

Just the other day, I seen a head of another TFSI engine with low miles on it, he was having misfire problems, when I seen the head, it was well coked up...

Would this be something that can help, apart from watermeth, to keep on top of it.???

Had anon-res pipe fitted:

At the start is was a bit louder and I was not to sure if I liked it, but I have now got used to it, the sound it great, not to boomy, sounds well on WOT. It is louder than the res pipe, felt a bit sharper too, but sound can make things seem or sound faster...

All comments welcome !  :happy2:

Thanks Mike  :happy2:

Cheers Dan, Yes I would like to try 5mm and 7mm spacers on, I need to use spacers, as they will not fit without them  :sad1: but don't mind as it gives some added width to the car, maybe only 10-20 mm over all, but wider track and a better stance..

a lot of new work done mate , car looks wicked. Love the new discs too, wonder if dave does a 2 piece disc for s3 set ups hmmm? What's next then mate?

Hey Surrey thanks for the compliment, I would say anything is possible for Dave to do  :happy2:

Well I have a squeak from my rear Arb, so need to grease it up, any easy ways to do this or just drop the bar re-lube and fit It back on, I have been messing around with the ARB settings lately, and I'm back where I started, bar the front is set to the softest setting, and the rear to the stiffest setting, I find the car is better balanced this way, med on med was not to bad... But I am a lot happier with the settings I'm on now.

New tyres soon

Also have cruise control and the trip computer stalk to fit, with the polar FIS+ unit, but seem to be unable to enter the menu settings on my highline, that was a reto fit...Seems a MFSW is required to get this to work for some reason...  I have the Audi RS4 steering wheel fitted, so not really wanting to change the wheel... Just hope there will be some other way to add the extra parts, and have them all working !

Need my magnetic number plate redone, so I can run with my other grille on..

Also have a rattle coming from in and around the front dash, so need to find that, as it is doing my nut in...

Been considering new seats...     and going for the 4x4 conversion, maybe carbon door skins, and have another go at having my carbon wings fitted.  :chicken:

Also a few other things, but keeping them top secret at the present time

I have a gremlin with my highline dash...

Had it fitted & coded. It worked fine.

My mfsw buttons where fried. I tried a mk 5 Pirelli mfsw and the buttons worked.  I think plugging into the mk5 wheel altered how the clocks react/ work though as the mkV Pirelli wheel had a little control box/ module inside the wheel for the buttons because now I can't access my menus either  :sad1:

Not much left to do then  :P, Im lucky and don't have any squeaks from my car thank god as like you said having a squeak hat you don't know where it's coming from must do your brain in  :signLOL:.

I'm looking at fitting cruise soon with the 08 trip stalk aswell which I bought in January.
Just not that much in a hurry to fit then as I have been tidying up little bits That annoy me like my calipers and other tired looking parts.

I also have big plans for mine just waiting on a few things to come Into place then it'll be go go go

Keep up the good work mate, I will keep my eye on your thread  :drinking:

Tires are a barstewards time of the year lol £600 straight out the bank haha but needs must with extra power

Seen your thread on that Mike, was hoping you would have got a solution to fix yours, which could have fixed my problem too!

I have been talking myself in to changing the steering wheel, maybe go for the mk6 one, but only to hope it would cure the problem... What if it didn't ?

Then thought it needed the trip computer stalk for it to work, but when I spoke with Ed, I'm now not sure that is possible  :fighting:  Why is it never easy.???

Would have loved the polar working to keep an eye on things, if I get to the track this year !

Nope not too much more to do, just when you think your done, new ideas arise, what else can be done, then its back round in a circle, changing bits that don't even need to be changed  :signLOL:

Yep the squeak is from the rear ARB, so need to get it off and some new arb bush grease rubbed round it, unless anyone is aware of another grease to use?

The ARB Bars are from whiteline.

Look forward to seeing your new bits ! any clues? Hope it all works out good for you Jake....  :popcornsoda:

New tyres are always a good buy, expensive hit, but always get better traction till the tread wears down again....

Thanks again for the compliments !  :happy2:

i also say " yep thats me done with modding the golf now " my boss says what's the point in changing something that don't need to fixed/changed  :signLOL:

i want a full set of ARB but waiting on a full poly bush kit to come up on deal from demon tweeks or somewhere first, then do the ARB and SALK at the same time.

I've got a list as long as the M25 but the realistic plans that will happen will be revealed with the next few months

i love the Goodyear Eagle F1 Assy's i fitted to mine not so long ago.

where you based? would be nice to see this car

As my sig says, if it's not broke Mod it  :signLOL:  That sounds like a long list, how long is the M25?

The things we change are more for peace of mind, we mod our cars to keep them in tip-top performance condition, i plan on keeping my car, so i would like everything fresh and in new condition. Aswell it's my pride & joy. Take the boss out a run, see what he thinks then  :driver:

Yes ARB's make a noticeable difference to the way the car handles, most folk seem to be going for H&R, think Alex @ AKS had a group buy on the go, or try Rob from W8performance, he is a great guy to deal with... Also the SALK i found to be better over the WALK. Superpro also make whitelines bushes, well as far as i'm aware they do.

As for tyres toyo T1R's are my fav, great on the dry and wet, the only down side is they do not last as long as other top brands... I had a few sets of Goodyear Eagle F1 Assy's, they are a great tyre also and last much longer than the toyo's...

Jake i'm based in Northern Ireland... your more than welcome to come and visit matey !

exactly that mate, the more things that are changed and uprated means less to go wrong, in theory!

plus building a super car slaying machine requires new parts every payday  :P

he has been out in the car and he did enjoy it he's just old and loves his mint mx5 project, i told him its a hair dresser's dream LOL

I cant wait for my car to be properly set up suspension rather than just coilies  and also with new power, a trip to Ireland is on the cards this year as my best friend visits Carrick on Suir twice a year to visit family which i am going to, need to decide whether to drive or get a flight.

seen some nice roads in Ireland that will be a great drive  :driver:
