rcd 300 to rcd510 connections

I've just bought the rcd510dab but will not be using the old cd changer or an iPod. so will i still need to swap pins/wires over. will it still be plug and play.
i have the aerial adapter and dab aerial and new can bus "thanx ed"
also. is there a way to tell of the rcd510 build date as can't see any on the stickers.
