Engine Warning Light - problem found and help needed

Had the warning liht com up on my way home. No side effects I could tell or notice. Car slightly lumpy on idle though only very slight.

Anybody no the possible cause of this error:

004195 - Fuel Pressure Regulation: Control Range Not Reached
               P1063 - 002 - Lower Limit Exceeded - Intermittent - MIL ON

Logged this - Fuel pressure is well off. Could the Fuel filter cause this or is it definitely the pump?

Yep when the internals were put in.

Will order a cam follower today - is the sensor just called Fuel Pressure sensor? Part num?

etka calls it Thrust Sensor and the latest part number is 06E906051K.   :smiley:

It's easily a DIY job with the correct size spanner.
I suggest first you relieve the pressure in the fuel rail by bleeding it using the Schrader bleed valve on the hpfp.
Without traction power is nothing!

Awesome thanks....will try this first. Then if no improvement tackle the nightmare of taking the fuel pump off (banjo fitting) and checking the cam follower.

Sorry for the questions....but what does checking the cam entail? Cam follower I'm fine with though the cam?? not so sure.

Just run your fingernail on the cam lobe surface after you remove the follower.
If the follower is in good condition it should be smooth. If the follower is very worn down but not punched through then it's worth checking the cam for smoothness as a heavy scratched lobe can cause increased wear on the cam follower.
