Not sure about the interior alarm, will check that this evening.

But I must agree it does look a bit poo!  :ashamed:

If anyone would be so kind as to let me know the original dimensions for the location of the gti badge
then ill get it sorted asap!!

Does your car come with the interior alarm, it's on the roof lining above the b pillar inside the car. As some imports don't get the alarm
Yeah I found the interior alarm.

Looks like this ones going to stay a bit of a mystery!

Hi,  there shouldn't be. You would probably be best using a clay bar to get rid of the dirt around the badges properly.

you should be able to use a heat gun/hair dryer and some dental floss to bring the badges off the car. Most of the glue should come off it if not all.

Have done this process on my Caddy 2 months ago and came up great! and those badges had been on since 2008.

Hair dryer and credit card worked for me, then a bit of elbow grease with wd40 followed by a polish and alls good on the jetta's rear.

Maybe a replacement boot from a standard golf and they just left the badge on it and added the gti badge to it.

Apply some heat using a hair dryer so that the glue softens and you can wiggle the badges then slowly lift them off being carefull not to a. burn your fingers or b. damage the paint. Then use some Autoglym bug / tar remover to get rid of any residue and polish.

Simple.

The previous owner for some reason had painted my GTi badge with what looked like red nail varnish so that came off almost straight way!
