In most cases a D revision DV will be more than adequate for your needs.
Without traction power is nothing!

^^^^ What he said!

Part number 06H 145 710 D.

Only cost about £50 so may as well change just as a precaution. Just 3 torx screws right at the front (at the top) of the engine.

I recently had a Revision G fitted, cheaper, and supposedly better!! People in the know have opted for a G!

If it helps with your decision I'd go with bacillus & MC71.

I have a 06F 145 710 G sat in front of me that doesn't hold pressure at peak boost.
I replaced it with the Forge FMFSITVR. Seems pretty bomb proof but nearly 4 times the price of the revision D!

58 GTI Pirelli with REVO stage 1.

LOL! As it happens I'm picking up a Rev G tomorrow to be fitted over the weekend. Not bothered about DvG debate as both options are better than what I've got - I.e Rev C!!!

....What!? Where!? Another God vs Devil fight? - Bring it on!

But, on topic, :innocent: how does the Forge DV compare with the now better revised OEM DV's?

As RR says, how does the forge compare?

I can't comment on all G's but mine leaked. When accellerating hard I got a judder which coincided with DV flutter.
When the Forge valve was fitted; problem solved.

From what I can make out VW fitted the Rev G to the later ED30 & Pirelli but decided it wasn't man enough for the R.
A stage 1 REVO'd Pirelli / ED30 theoretically runs more power (I'm assuming more boost!) than the R which has a D I think.
So if I was to go for OEM i'd have a D as I would assume it has been tested to higher boost levels!

Part of me would like to know how they compare (Not the part that bought the Forge DV tho) .

.
R-Tech strongly recommend the revision G over the D:

He checked and changed the DV as my 6 month old rev D DV had broken and was bleeding a bit of air. He has advised I get a rev G now and said that everyone should listen to him that rev D are poorly designed :) Unfortunately a new DV didnt cure the power or turbo effort but at least I know its not going to fail in the near future now.
