Aerial adapter Help
« on: June 29, 2012, 04:25:39 pm »
Hey all, now looking to fit my alpine 9812 single din headunit into my mk5, but just wanted to know from the VW side of things, what aerial connection is awaiting me behind my standard unit lol. As there are 2 type of fitting kits, either with a 'din' aerial and or 'iso' aerial and confused about which to get

Cheers, all

It'll be a fakra connector as standard on your VW radio. You'll need a dual FAKRA to DIN or ISO depending on what alpine unit you are getting.

VCDS Scanning/Coding, RNS and MDI retrofits, and specialist mechanics services with VAGtek available - Just PM me for details.

Dual fakra, another new thing lol.

The alpine unit is an older one now discontinued - cda 9812rb

I could try and get a pic of the rear if that helps?

I was looking at a kit like this:
