Should Women and Men earn the same in Tennis?

Interesting point raised yesterday by one of the male players. Should prize money be equal?  :confused:

But women's games are only 3 sets long instead of going to 5 sets like men's sometimes do so this would need to be brought into line aswell.

I'm not against them getting more just all the other bits have to be the same

For me it's about appeal and popularity.

Until a women's final draws the same interest as a mens, then yes.

....It's all about appeal for me too: I have much more interest in the women's tennis when Tsvetana Pironkova is playing! :love: Saw her play Sharapova and she nearly won.

Apparently, according to the BBC, Sharapova is the highest paid athlete in the world.

Am not a tennis fan but I'll watch the finals though. Same with football.
