lass with a beast!
« on: June 30, 2012, 02:25:29 am »
Hi all,

Recently sold my beloved mk5 tdi and invested in an 06 red gti! Absolutely love it, always have a little grin when I put my foot down :)....

One quick question, having slight problems with changing from 1st to 2nd. (Its a manual). Could this be because im so use to driving a diesel or does anyone else have this problem?!  Don't any of you say it's because im female!

Any advice/help much appreciated :)

Rach

You make it too easy  :signLOL:

When you say you have a problem, in what way? crunch? Doesn't move past the neutral point?

A Very Warm Welcome, Rach  :happy2: - "Lass with a Beast" certainly grabbed my attention!

It's good to have another female amongst us who is a car enthusiast.

My red Mk5 GTI is DSG but they all have a short first gear which means you change into second gear very soon on acceleration. Do not shortcut it by starting off in second gear because it's not kind to your clutch. Does this help?

Oh, and we'd like to see photos...............

Did you notice how subtle I was in setting it up so someone else (you, Ian) would suggest that Rachael post pics of herself   (with her car of course).

Aww guys thanks all! Lovely to have such a warm welcome :).

Im in stourbridge if anyone knows where that is?!

And red robin, I'll try changing into 2nd quickly. It just jolts when I change, like kangarooing, looks a bit stupid!

I have one photo but it looks pink (the car lol).

Cn you upload it straight onto the post or shall I photobucket it?

Much love

Rach,

Use photobucket.

I know Stourbridge - I went to Bromsgrove Public School.

Red is always a tricky colour to photograph. Sometimes slightly under exposing the shot can help but it's all about reflected light from the sky.

Can't be pinker than mine!:

No way, small world. Where abouts are you from?

Omg how pink is that! Looks actually quite hot in pink.

Here's my baby, debating a subtle tint on the back?!
