Is my PCV Valve Faulty?
« on: July 01, 2012, 05:05:52 pm »
Hi guys,

I'm having issues with my 2007 Leon Cupra.

When the car is idle, it's either revving high or doing this:

I have also noticed some white deposits around the fuel cap, which weren't there before this started happening.

If it is the PCV, what parts do I need?

Many thanks!

If you pull out the dipstick when the engine is running and if it starts to run rough your PVC valve is fine.

If it makes no difference to the way it runs then you need to replace it, there is a guide on here if you search for it.

When I pull out the dipstick, the car runs much worse... like it's gonna stall and then rev up!  So does this mean the valve is fine?

Cheers

I think so but I couldn't be 100% sure.

You would be best getting someone with Vagcom to scan your car for faults

Just an update, case anyone else has the same issue!

I replaced the PCV with the revised Ver N.... & it's solved the problem.  Very, very simple to replace, only takes a few minutes!

The part was only £38!

Happy again!
