Are all sach's clutch's this hard!
« on: July 03, 2012, 08:48:49 pm »
Just had my new clutch and DMF fitted to my Edition30 by my local VAG expert as well as the MK6 gti steering wheel and R32 style milltek, loving it but the clutch pedal is stiff as hell, will it settle down or do they all come like this? It's 100% better to drive already and I ain't mapped!

I would say mine is a touch heavier on the pedal, but nothing to the levels you are describing

You won't even notice it after a week. Be careful next time you drive a normal car though, your hoof will go clear through the footwell

I thought the same when I had mine first in. Pedal feel was awful and was a bit nasty to pull away from (first 50-100 miles), also thought the pedal was massively heavy too. Now about 1,000 miles on it feel only slightly heavier than OEM and has a good biting point.

Yeah mines heavier than oem, and in traffic is a pain, but mines a daily driver and would consider it fine...

Have driven a racing paddle clutch with on/off action, now that is awful! lol

I had a Sachs clutch in my mk4 pd150 and that was quite heavy. The only way I found helped was to do some squats  :P

I take it that's an uprated clutch you're on about?

Does your sach's clutch judder on biting point? I’ve had a sach's clutch fitted about a month ago and it judders in first gear when pulling away and also when reversing, was just wondering if this is common with these types of clutches?

I had a bit of a judder on a previous car when a sachs clutch was fitted, but it went away once bedded in. The one fitted in this car has never juddered at all

Can you remember roughly how many miles before it was bedded in please?
