Can you mix brands of oil as long as same quality/VW spec?

As above, I have Castrol 5W/30 in at the moment but wanted to try the Millers Nanodrive. Can I top up with 5W/30 Millers or is it not advisable to mix different brands even if meet VW504 spec etc?

mixing brands when topping up is perfectly fine, as long as they are both of the same type i.e. fully synthetic

Isn't nanodrive that new one that's supposed to up your bhp?? If so surely it wouldn't give any of the benefits just mixing it in with normal oil.

Porsche demonstrated similar results to what Millers are claiming on their Cayenne models by using low friction oils in a study a few years ago.

What attracts my interest is its claimed maintenance benefits rather than the extra bhp.

In the millers oils app guide they don't seem to offer 5w/30, only 5w/40

Cheers for that, will get some of this and give it a try for next oil service in another 2k (change it every 6k which is once per year!).

Methinks that, subject to JKM's advice, it'll be 5W-40 Millers Nanodrive for me next oil change. I change oil every 10k miles. (Stage 2 K03)

yup, i was going to try and switch over to it, opie oils has it at just over £60.00 for 4 litres so yes it is more expensive than the others but if it is genuinely superior would pay it
