Can anyone tell me, on Revo setting if it's F7(running an APR pump) what would be leaner, F6 or F8?

Obviously leaner will run hotter, but does it give more power?

Cheers,

Dom

F8 is leaner than F7.
As for empirically giving more power, depends on several other variables including your hardware and state of tune.

Just It seems i'm getting very black tail pipes and lots of soot deposits on the boot... just thinking she could be running a little rich with the APR pump and Revo Stage 2.

My turbo is apparently running 67% duty cycle!?! And could run B9 with an intercooler(due to heatsoak), currently on B8.

Have you got access to a vcds cable as you could then easily log your lambda (block 031) to verify if you're running too rich.

As for your duty cycle, 67% is probably ok at the top end of the rpm range and doesn't suggest a boost leak.

Can I assume you meant couldn't?

No, if I had a intercooler I could run B9, but it was set to B8 due to heatsoak playing a part...

I know it's safer to run rich, but just wondering why the increase in soot deposits and whether I could change this...

Seems I need someone with VCDS, but may just leave it till next time i'm near a tuner...

A sooty exhaust isn't uncommon with a mapped gti but, by your descripition, sounds a bit more than the norm.
