ITG Maxogen heat shield

I've just purchased an ITG Maxogen induction kit from off the forum. All the kit fits fine apart from the heat shield which is obviously not the correct one.
Does anyone know anywhere where the heat shield can be purchased separately??
Or is there another way I can insure the filter remain's cool??
Any help appreciated

I got a new one from Revo a couple of months back, was about £35 I think...

You certain that it isn't the correct one? The Maxogen heat shield isn't the best fitting item in the world - it does kind need to be squashed into place.

From recent posts on here, it appears that it's not vital to performance. Some members have stated that it actually has a negative effect and as a result choose not to fit it. Mine has always been run with the heatshield, so I wouldn't know any different.

If it is deffo not the right part that you have, I'd suggest a call to VW Racing to see if it can be purchased separately.

Leave it off.  You get more airflow to the filter with the shield removed.

Plus I have open fog grills which will also increase air flow.

^^^^ would that also add to the noise (my only problem with my ITG system). Just read an interning thread about changing the system from open to a closed with a canister.

The noise is awesome , very addictive. Not sure what you mean by a closed canister?

Told you they are a sack of sh*t and dont fit properly, hence why i left it off.

I find it incredible that these kits brand new cost upwards of £350 yet they cant make a heat shield that fits.
So if leaving it off aint a problem then thats what ill do :-)

I took mine off in the end, as when its raining, it just ends up as a lump of soggy foan, and bear in mind the strip across the battery is wedged under the fender, I cant see it helping towards keeping rust away. mine didnt fir properly either, and was propping the hood up, I even adjusted the hood up on the opposite side and still wasnt enough.

Mine fits fine now that I've given it abit of a trim. tried the filter without the sheild and felt I was getting a lot of heat soak when in traffic and engine is hot so put it back on and won't be taking it back off. It came with a heat sheild for a reason.

I took mine off and have a 4" cold air feed going to the filter on the cupra
