5-40 oils

Are there any 5-40w oils that anyone can recommend? This has to be vw spec for a gti.

Doesnt have to be VW spec if its not in warranty.  Millers CFS 5w40 NT out specs VW by a long way.  Use this in loads of TFSi engines now and really minimises cam follower wear.

What do you folks think about Fuchs TITAN GT1 XTL 5W-40 synthetic engine oil?

I had my oil service done a couple of months ago.  So would it be ok to top-up with this oil - or is it best to flush the previous oil and change the oil filter?
