Thinking of getting a RCD510 but has no code?
« on: July 10, 2012, 01:43:57 pm »
As above thinking of getting one for my 2005 gti to replace the original unit.

However it does not come with a code.

So how do I get one?

I paid £190 for mine on ebay, perfect condition with code. Just had to get a new canbus of Eddie on here. Such a step up from orginal unit.

Worth looking round and get one with a code.

Have spoke to eddie about the canbus and have also asked the question about the code.

Perhaps he might have an answer.

Price is really good considering it is a DAB unit.

Two options vin from car the rcd originally came from. Or send it to one of the guys on ebay for decoding. The vw method should be free if you know vin of car and serial from stereo
