Fully or Semi...
« on: July 12, 2012, 01:01:22 pm »
No nothing rude...

My dealership are saying Fully synthetic for long life servicing or semi synthetic for time & distance... but I want my car ran on the fully synthetic long life oil even though it's on time & distance servicing...

Is fully synthetic better? I always top up with castrol edge fully synthetic longlife oil...?

I think the general rule is Long life oil regardless of service interval - so just inform VW that you wish to have an annual service but have long life oil used. Expect to pay that little bit more. Or you could get some castrol edge from Euro car parts yourself and supply your own. save a few pennies.

My ed30 has been on longlife oil at interval service since new, average 9k a yr.
