Loads of topics on this. Use the search function. Most people say Maxi Cosi or Recaro, though I personally think the Maxi Cosi seats are smarter and the materials more durable.

As far as a pram is concerned, I don't think you're going to find one that doesn't pretty much fill the boot. We've got an iCandy Apple and loads space is seriously compromised by it.

Morning buddy,

Congratulations  :happy2:

We've just had our second baby two weeks ago (well my daughter is 3 now so no longer a baby) and we have a Quinny Buzz/Maxi cosi combo which works well.

The car seat is on an Isofix base with adapters to allow it to work with the Quinny. The Pram base itself stands up quite neatly in the rear of the boot once the oversized rear wheels are popped off. You can also get a full flat bottomed carrycot whilst the baby is tiny (we've just borrowed one to be fair as they aren't in it long at all) and I think Quinny do there own car seat but like I say the Maxi cosi is compatible.

We had a mama's and papa's set first time round but the pram was very flimsy so sold it when our daughter was about 6 months old.

Be warned though, this pram malarky isnt cheap!!

I will add as well, if you're just using the pram base and the car seat it is possible to get a 6 stone labrador in the boot too! :signLOL:

I'm not sure just how we are going to fair in a month or two when we are off to Dorset for a week with said labrador, two kids, full carry cot and a weeks worth of clothes and food but friends of my wife's have managed this with a little tiny corsa for a few years. I do think we'll be adding an ever so trendy collapsible roofbox though  :ashamed:

I've had all sorts of cars since having our daughter including two Range Rover Vogues, an Audi A4 B7 estate and a Volvo Estate and to be fair once you factor a dog into the equation as well its still a struggle lugging all the gear about no matter how big the boot is, I'd personally say that the golf is just as well equipped to do the task as both of the smaller estates due to having a deep boot rather than a long shallow one.

this is the recaro we have. is really good but is massive and weighs a ton.

the recaro travel systems are only compatible with a few travel systems. they wouldn't fit onto our britax

you can get a britax with gti cloth from vw for about £170

were keeping out britax though as we've got another on the way too so will hang onto it then get a dual pushchair.

We have the Recaro Akuna travel system with Isofix base for ours. The buggy frame just about fits in the boot, and as ours in a 3 door (Wife's choice ), it's a bit squeeze geeting the seat into the back. But it seems safe, and secure and we're pretty pleased with it.
