GTI & GT TDI front badges the same or not?

Anyone know if the GTI front VW badge will fit a GT TDI?

I'm selling a GTI badge and have been asked if it fits the GT TDI.

The badges from a gt slatted grill will not fit the GTI grille, fact.

I had to buy a new badge when I got a GTI grill.

Mines a 2008 gt sport and the badge would 100% not fit a GTI grille

Well i got my black one from a 1.6 and it fitted straight in no probs

Is a 1.6 badge the same as a gt sport badge??

I got a pic at home and ill ger the part numbers, then it's up to you.

I thought they were the same until I fitted a GTI grill to mine and then had to drive about with no badge for 2 days :-(

Pre face lift and GTI badges are the same.

Face lift badges are different.

I have been thinking about a black badge for mine recently but not sure its it will suit it or not but in searching I have come across 2 different types.

This type which seems to fit the GTI grills etc, maybe pre-facelift as Rich mentioned.



And this type which is for the later GT Sports like mine and R32's (has the extra rim round the outside).

So the only question now is do you want the badge for ore or post facelift?? Confusing ain't it!!

The facelift Gt badge is p/n 1k5853600 and this is deffo a different size to a GTI badge.

LOL! This is pretty confusing. I was expecting a few yes or no's. But I guess its never as simple as that when it comes to the germans
