Not seen one in the flesh and this one is a trek to go and see...But am very keen.

i would maybe get down to a dealers... as they are bound to have one. it really does look great when clean

Laser Blue. Only available up to 2005/2006 i think.

Yeah it's laser blue, as said above it was dropped around 2005/2006 when they changed a few things on the GTI's around that time.

Main ones was laser blue dropped, blue tint glass became green, aerial on the roof instead of in the rear window, fog lights changed from projector to halogen, the rear badge changed to a 3d version (think that might have come later).. There are more but that's all I can think of atm

I think the early cars had 10 speakers, the later cars had 8.

They brought out shadow blue (the superior colour) after 2006 then?

Be careful here. The car you see below in my sig is my old car, a shadow blue, and I now have a laser blue. In certain light, my laser blue can look pretty close to my old shadow blue. The shadow blue in sunlight made it a lot brighter looking, and very close to the laser blue in grey weather. Both colours are great by the way, IMHO.
