Having spent some working time in the US, mid west, Texas and Florida.....it's a state issue. Imagine driving down the A1 and passing into Northumbria and all of a sudden having NO speed limits and no requirement to insure or tax your vehicle...80 minutes later you leave northumbria and you get back into the land of common sense.
One of my instructors over there bought his young son a gun for his 10th birthday....more of a right of passing more than anything else.
Lowest crime level ever was a sizeable town in Texas that made a county law that each homeowner had to protect their home with a loaded weapon....crime effectively stopped overnight.
The downside Is the nutter mentality..
There is nothing to say gun law will stop these killings, we had a nutter shoot that poor Indian lad in Salford because he looked at the guy funny and to demonstrate something more comparable to Colorado.....remember the hungerford massacre ....15 dead and 31 injured by a guy with a police endorsed gun license
