Can anyone recommend a company to dig up my existing sub base, lay a new one and then gravel the drive? Approx 25sqm.
The existing drive was Tarmac to the right half, then on the left it was tree/hedge/3x2 path and bedding area.
We have ripped up the 3x2 slabs, taken down the wall, cut down the tree, cut down the hedge, removed some of the root systems, but needs digging out properly. We have also ripped up the existing tarmac revealing the sub base.
Ideally, i want it excavated, membrane, sub base, gravel. For the size of the drive, which isnt that big. I have had one company out to quote so far, and it was £1500 + VAT. Did offer to do it cash though. To be honest, i dont want to pay any more than £800-1000 really. Im sure i could get it block paved for not much more than £1500.
If i cant get a cheap enough quote, im hiring a skip, mini digger and doing it myself.
