I think generally people go for either Bosch or Varta

Cool. is there anything I need to look out for specifically? are there are two sizes of battery. They both say 12v - it one just a longer life? more power?

It would be the 1st one, the 2nd one wont fit as it is too long.

go here http://www.eurocarparts.com/car-battery and type in your reg and it will show all batteries, then I'm sure there's a 25% off discount code somewhere

I've got a Bosch S5 on mine rated at 77Ah which is above what the standard battery is

? my current battery is slightly bigger than this first pic.....double handle etc?

The higher the AH the better?
S5 < This like the model - newer version

S5 77AH -what you pay for that?

You can look at your current battery and get the part number, use this sheet if the label doesnt mention AH & AMPS

http://www.thetradepartsspecialists.co.uk/pdf/SpecChart02_VartaAndQuantum-03.xls

I'd try and find a Varta Blue battery to match your current AH & AMPS
