At least you found out what was wrong with it :drinking:

That vw specialist needs to be :fighting:, cams were put in wrong, now the rocker rollers. Hopefully this will be the last engine surgery the car gets :notworthy:

I'll get the rockers in early next week and leak down test it again, if it's seals ok then we're in business and you'll have your power back, like I said to you the last time we spoke Dom, I'm not sure what's caused this on your car, I've only ever seen this on manuals which have been murdered by over revs

Really glad the problem has been found.

Strange to hear that its the rockers at fault.  These are the same rockers used in the Gallardo engines that constantly rev high.

So are the valves leaking under a leak down test Steve?

I've never over revved it, or changed down by mistake either. The week the car lost power I never had the car out of 'D' mode either, so a bit of a strange one  :stupid:

Yes mate seen it a good few times now, first DSG car though so guess the valve timing & cam to cam timing being out for so long took its toll, just hope we can get away with just the rockers for you  :happy2:

So are the valves leaking under a leak down test Steve?

Do you know the full history of the car AL ?
Speak to Dom about it, it's quite scary how it had been built so wrong when it's such a simple motor to put together

I just read his thread on cupranet, so it was the dodgy variator that caused his two exhaust cams to seize

I was going to put it into BDM to get the rebuild done, but Maxitrol had found a garage 40mins away from me that did his engine, so went to them instead unfortunately :sad1:
