I've read the Kite is a very lazy bird and has a love for easy prey along with collecting strange shiny objects and storing them in their nests.

Its true... even thought they are classed as a bird of prey they are primarily scavengers.

How did you manage to get that shot 

Seeing them isn't difficult but photographing one relaxed wow!

Pure luck, saw him or her sitting on the fence grabbed the camera and to my amazement it completely ignored me whilst I took the picture. Bit of a regular visitor to our garden there's often a pile of feathers on the lawn from its victims, seen it a few times in action grabbing its prey.

Just got back from the Cayo Islands and the variety of birds wherever you looked was amazing. They never stayed still for long as they were always fighting and chasing each other. I wish i could have snatched a bit more time taking pics without my son grabbing my attention.

This fella used to arrive every afternoon and would take a crab out of your hand if you were brave enough. He would also get dive bombed by some sort of peregrine falcon regularly which was less than half its size.

This Humming bird was virtually impossible for me to photograph, they are no bigger than your thumb and have the dexterity of a blue bottle. It was almost dark and I took about 50 shots of it without hardly any catching it in focus.

These are all lovely, Tom! Great colour, striking compositions, capturing typical moments in the birds character.

I belong to several wildlife photography groups on facebook which have very high standards of posted photos including some by professionals and yours make the grade.

I've forgotten, are you a Nikon or a Canon user?

Hi Robin, just a 550 D with good glass and top models for posing, I learnt a long while a go if the model is good it sure helps with perception of quality.

I'm about to get a 70D with L glass plus a Sony RX100 II truly pocket-size compact which shoots RAW to replace my FinePix which I have worn out!

Wow, great shots guys really dramatic!

I'm a keen fisherman & the oppurtunities I have missed through not having a decent camera is unreal! - definately on my list this year!!

Once a pair of Otters swam past and then started playing right in front of me, absolutely killed the fishing but boy was it worth it!

Also there is what I believe to be a white buzzard resident to an area I fish in Somerset; Ive been told it's an Osprey but I'm fairly certain its a buzzard so I will endeavour to get a shot of it if anyone can help ID it?

Some more of the 'native' Goldfinches in my garden.  Trying to get my images as sharp as I can.. and it was blowing a gale!  ..and yes Rich, I know the ISO setting is high on some of them - just seeing how much noise I can get away with.
