iPhone & RCD510
« on: July 13, 2012, 03:05:54 pm »
Hi Guys

I've tried searching the forums but can't seem to find a definitive answer, what do I need in order to plug my iPhone into this stereo? I've got a 6CD changer in the armrest and the headunit has 6cds built in so ideally I'd like to get the ipod armrest replacement if possible what do I need to get in order to do this so I can control the iphone (ipod function) via the stereo?

Thanks

Jamie

Hi
You will need Media In (MDI) interface i.e. eBay auction 261064174711 and iPhone adapter lead 280919673344.

Thanks Alex, I've bought those 2 should it just plug in to where I removed the cd changer?

Yes that is correct, sometimes you might have issues with wiring loom. Replacement is easily sourced and replaced if required.

That:

Or buy the new plug for MDI from VW and swap the pins. That the cheapest way. It will cost u 2-4 quid plus 1-2 hours of your work.
