Rear wheel bearing info required

After havibg had the timing belt done yesterday, the garage has now said that a rear bearing is needing replaced.
I've done this job before on my MK2 and Corrado,so I just need to know if the raer wheel bearing on the MK5 is that same pressed in design or is it a drop in one and push home with a socket job?

Rears are a complete bolt on housing. From memory there is to sizes and the only way to tell is a visual inspection.

Rear wheel bearings on the mk5 are not a press fit, there a bolt on job! Specifically a 16 multi spline socket. As you might imagine the rear brakes ie pads, discs ect need to be removed in order to get the wheel bearing off. And if that wasn't enuf! In order to get the rear discs off you need to removed the pad carriers which are 14 multi spline bolts, usually very tight and very fidley! Best to get the car off the ground and on a ramp to tackle this job. Hope this helps  :happy2:
